Harrison Series, View from Studio
The windows in my studio on the third floor of the 744 Alabama building have been a favorite motif since I began using the space in 2015. The endless exchange of light, darkness, shadow and fog is the subject of this series of paintings.
When my time in the studio came to an end in December to clear the way for offices, the familiar view became a memory and the paintings, souvenirs, each holding a bit of this particular time and space.
Windows, like paintings frame our perceptions in a concrete way and when life dictates that we pass them on to the next viewer we carry their information with us, nonetheless.
