Workshop 1

Nature Journaling for the Classroom

Learning in the Landscape follows the John Muir Laws approach toward Nature Journaling as a vehicle for inquiry, imagination and connection. Workshops focus on developing a nature journaling practice in the classroom with an emphasis on visual thinking and using art materials and techniques for sketching in the field.

Integrating Art with the NGSS

Catherine Sky is excited to share all she knows about bringing the Next Generation Science Standards to life through visual art teaching and learning. Through her work as a Masters student in The School of Education at Sonoma State University, Catherine has done extensive research on art and science integration and overlaps between the NGSS and the California Arts Education Framework.
