This series is inspired by the view from a picnic table at Helen Putnam Park in Petaluma, CA. Based on small works on paper, completed on site, the paintings develop through a process of translation in the studio where direct perception blends with memory and a conceptual awareness place. The title of the series is taken the dedication inscribed on a plaque on the table.
